Lisa Taylor

Lisa has a background in nursing and social care. She is a trained holistic and deep tissue massage practitioner with many years of experience. She currently offers massage treatments at her home as well as teaching yoga. Do get in touch to book an appointment and see the page for testimonials and further details.

Lisa began practising Yoga twenty one years ago, after the birth of her first child, and was amazed by the positive changes it made to her body, emotional well being, spiritual connection and sense of mental clarity. She felt so inspired that she went on to complete a Foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga and then to train as a Yoga teacher with the Inner Yoga Trust (also affiliated with the BWY). Lisa has also attended many workshops and small courses in Internal Family Systems therapy and in Non Violent Communication and, therefore, developed attentive and compassionate listening skills and an ability to understand the challenges that people may face both emotionally and mentally. She listens with presence, awareness and care. Lisa is a trauma informed yoga teacher.

Yoga in Schools - Lisa holds a certificate with Teen Yoga and she has trained and practised teaching teenagers and young people within the school setting. She is available for this type of teaching at local schools or youth clubs etc.

Her current teaching style is influenced by Peter Blackaby and Scaravelli yoga, by the teachings of BKS Iyengar and her past training with IYT and the British Wheel. Lisa practises yoga and meditation almost every day. She also loves to sing, dance and wild swim. She is a mother of two sons.

Lisa is passionate and enthusiastic about her work and loves sharing her knowledge and experience with her students. She is an embodied teacher who brings the qualities of attentive, intuitive listening and reading of the body, as well as nurturance and care. The spaces she holds are accepting, warm, inclusive and nurturing.
